KCDK-E Co-Chair Koç: OPCW is a partner in the massacre 2022-10-22 12:40:58   İSTANBUL - Stating that they presented the images and findings regarding the use of chemical weapons to the European Parliament, KCDK-E Co-chair Yüksel Koç said."The OPCW remained silent and participated in the massacre."   Condemning chemical weapons attacks against Zap, Metina and Avaşîn regions with the cooperation of AKP-MHP's Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) are growing. According to the war balance sheet, 44 HPG members lost their lives in these attacks by Turkey, which used chemical weapons 2467 times in the last 6 months. Despite many documents and findings and images of HPG members exposed to chemical weapons, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) did not take any action despite the calls.   The European Democratic Kurdistan People's Congress (KCDK-E), which is in action against Turkey's chemical weapons attacks in many European countries, sent a letter to OPCW Director-General Fernando Arias, "OPCW should break its silence, It should stop Turkey's use of chemical weapons!" made the call. After the mass demonstration, KCDK-E submitted the file containing information, findings and images on the use of chemical weapons to the European Parliament.   OPCW DELEGATION DID NOT ACCEPT   KCDK-E Co-Chair Yüksel Koç made assessments about Turkey's chemical weapons attacks and Europe's silence. Reminding that the delegation, including scientists on the use of chemical weapons, went to the Federated Kurdistan Region two months ago, and as a result of their investigations, many documents and findings were obtained, Koç said: " The delegation wanted to visit OPCW later, but the OPCW delegation did not accept the prepared file either. OPCW was encouraged by the silence of the OPCW in Turkey's use of chemical weapons."   'OPCW MUST SEND A DELEGATION'   Referring to the OPCW's statement on its social media account that they cannot investigate the allegations unless the parties request investigation and investigation, Koç said: "We read this statement of OPCW as covering up the incident and not fulfilling its own duty. Both the reports of the delegation and the images that HPG shared with the public are obvious. OPCW should see these as evidence and send a delegation to the region. This statement of the OPCW and this silence of the international powers means approval of chemical attacks. If they remain silent and do not fulfill their duties, they become partners in this massacre. Therefore, it means that international institutions are based on the interests of the state, not the people.”   TURKEY USES  CHEMICAL ATTACKS WITHOUT  NATO APPROVAL   Stating that it is not possible for Turkey to use chemical weapons without NATO approval, Koç said: “A century ago, the Kurds were divided into four because they were without leadership and organisation. Kurds are the main actors in the Middle East today. It is no longer possible to do politics without taking the Kurds into account in the Middle East. Everyone sees this today. As in the 20th century, Turkey resorts to genocidal policies in this period as well. All state means are being used to bring the Kurds, who are in a powerful position and an important actor, to their knees today.”   ‘IT IS THE DAY OF HONOR’   Expressing that the demonstrations against chemical weapons attacks will continue, Koç said: "If we say that these weapons are crimes against humanity,' everyone who says they are human should show their stance. It's the day of honor because these attacks are an attack on the Kurdish people in the person of guerrillas.”   MA / Ergin Çağlar
