Those who confess the Poyraz massacre are not investigated 2022-10-11 13:01:58   İZMİR - Complaints about Akın Akgöz, who praised Onur Gencer who murdered Deniz Poyraz, made confessions about the planned attack, and threatened HDP MPs, are either rejected or not answered.   The trial of Onur Gencer, who murdered Deniz Poyraz in the armed attack on the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) İzmir Provincial Organisation building on June 17, 2021, will continue on October 12. An effective trial process has not been carried out against the murderer Gencer despite of the 16 months that have passed since the murder of Poyraz. While the lawyers of the case insistently stated that the attack was planned and organised, neither the prosecutor's office nor the court committee investigate it. This was not enough, and the criminal complaints about the social media posts praising the murderer were either rejected or not answered until today.   NO RESPONSE TO DENUNCIATIONS   One of the denunciations of the lawyers is the statement made by Akın Akgöz and Metin Akgöz on their social media accounts right after Poyraz's murder. They shared the post on their social media as follows: “…We made the plan to attack the HDP İzmir building. My colleague Onur Gencer executed Deniz Poyraz. It will be your turn, all Kurds, Zazas, Alevis, left-wingers, Turks. There is no one to protect you in this country…”. However, in this denunciation, Akın and Metin Akgöz's confessions that the attack was planned were not taken into account. For the petition filed by the lawyers on June 28, 2021 for Akın Akgöz to be included in the case file, it was decided that there was no de facto connection with the incident within 1 month without any investigation and even without taking Akın Akgöz's statement.   THREATS TO HDP MPS   In another petition, it was requested that Akın Akgöz be investigated for "inciting the people to hatred and enmity, praising the crime and the criminal, threatening and insulting" because of his posts. To date, no response has been given to the petition filed by lawyers with the gun photos shared by Akın Akgöz, just like Onur Gencer, on Akın Akgöz's social media account. While there was no positive or negative response about the petition, Akgöz continued his posts praising the threat and attack against the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MPs with the courage he received from it. Akgöz sent threatening messages to HDP MPs Murat Çepni and Ebru Günay before the hearing, which was last seen on July 18.   Right after this incident, the lawyers who complained about Akın Akgöz on the charges of "threat, insult, praising the crime and the criminal", and also wanted to investigate whether there was a relationship between Muhammed Özkesici, Akın Akgöz, Metin Akgöz and Onur Gencer, who wanted to enter the courthouse armed. However, no answer has been given to this yet.   MA / Tolga Güney
