Ataş: Vote potential of Labour and Freedom Alliance is 20 percent 2022-09-10 09:57:20   ANKARA - SMF Representative Erdal Ataş said that the vote potential of the Labour and Freedom Alliance is 20 percent and that they will declare a program that includes the people's demand for social peace and democratization.   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), Labour Party (EMEP), Workers' Party of Turkey (TIP), Social Freedom Party (TOP), Socialist Assemblies Federation (SMF) and Laborers' Movement Party (EHP) organised the "Labour and Freedom Alliance" on August 25 announcing that they were established. The Alliance is preparing to take its work to the next level in line with the increasingly heated electoral agenda. The Alliance will soon announce the "Road Map", which also includes solution proposals for the country's problems. SMF Representative Erdal Ataş, who is in the alliance, made evaluations about the road map they will announce.   ECONOMIC CRISIS AND SOLUTION   Stating that Turkey is experiencing a very serious economic crisis and that the crisis, Ataş emphasized that the alliance they have formed has the clearest program against this crisis. Stating that they are defending a fair system against the capitalist system, Ataş said, "The rich earn more money by impoverishing the people, and they try to sell the commodities obtained from this income to the people they impoverish. The system spends a significant part of its income on military expense. It is not possible for the current system to survive the crisis."   Stating that a real salvation will be possible after all identities of the country, as well as workers and labourers, manage the economy with their own alternatives, Ataş said that if the Nation Alliance is in power, there will be no solution to the crisis.   DEMOCRATIC ORDER   Stating that the Kurdish question and other identity related problems, inflamed by the war policies, are among the main problems of the country, Ataş stated that the AKP-MHP is trying to survive by bringing different segments against each other, subjecting them to denial and destruction. Ataş said, "The governments in this country has not wanted this problem to be solved for the last 100 years. The government has no solution to other problems, especially the Kurdish question. The CHP and the forces next to it only say they will work on it. We have been lingering with the same problems for 100 years. The DEVA and IYI Party do not want to find a solution to identity issues either. However, the society imposes a solution despite all provocations. It advocates a system in which all people will have their own language and beliefs in a democratic way."   SOCIAL PEACE   Pointing out that the government has been creating polarization in the society for its political interests for a long time, Ataş said, "For the survival of this government, Turkish-Kurdish, male-female, Alevi-Sunni conflicts must continue. Even the main opposition party can be declared terrorist. Half of the country is declared terrorist. They are trying to rule the society with racist policies. But I think the society will show their will to live together against this. Workers and peoples want social peace."   'THEY WILL HAVE TO TAKE A STEP'   Referring to the statement of IYI Party Chair Meral Akşener in which she said there is no way they would be at the same table with the HDP, Ataş said, "Akşener knows that the current government will not go away without the Kurds and democracy forces, but she plays the easiest card. Akşener and her team have been saying that all Kurds are actually Turks and that they will destroy the Kurds. At this point, even the most racist parties except the existance of the Kurds. This is a point reached with this struggle. The democracy forces will impose them to take a step for peace and democracy."   VOTE POTENTIAL OF THE ALLIENCE IS 20%   Emphasizing that the 3rd way advocated by their alliances is a new alternative for the peoples, Ataş said: "Until now, there were ruling parties and capital parties opposing the government. We were acting with an understanding that was opposed to both. But at the current stage, remaining in the position of opposition is not the solution. We have a vote potential of 20 percent. We do not want to miss another opportunity. We think we are going in the right direction.”     MA / Fırat Can Arslan
