‘The Kobanê Case is planed at the MHP Headquarters’ 2022-07-25 11:11:02   ANKARA - Pointing out that the state has assumed the role of a judge in the Kobanê Case and stating that the case was left to the ruling party's partner MHP, lawyer Hadi Cin said: "The MHP plans these cases at its own headquarters."   The 15th hearing of the Kobanê Case launched against 108 people, 21 of whom are currently imprisoned, including former Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chairs Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş, is begining today. Evaluating the 14th hearing in the Kobanê Case, where the court board had intense objections regarding the method of hearing witnesses and the limitation of the defense, Hadi Cin, the attorney of Selahattin Demirtaş, spoken about the unlawfulness experienced during the trial.   Pointing out that the court committee sought witnesses in an organised manner in order to strengthen the file and abstract the indictment, Cin said: “The state, together with all its institutions, is trying to strengthen these abstract allegations. We see that they are working to persuade some people who are currently in prisons to say what they want, through EGM (General Directorate of Security) TEM (anti-terror) Branches."   ‘THE CASE IS PLANED AT MHP HEADQUARTERS’   Reminding that the Ministry of Justice and the General Security Directorate took part as complainants in the Kobanê Case, Cin said: "The issue of 'impartiality' has been highlighted in the trials since the invention of the state apparatus. Well, isn't the state the judge of its own case in crimes against the state? The state is the judge of its own cases with all its institutions in the Kobanê Case. It is the state that collects evidence, file complaints and judges. However, the opposition has limited opportunity to fight against it. The HDP closure case and the Kobanê Case are cases left to the MHP to steer. MHP plans these cases at its headquarters. Its infrastructure is prepared by its own attorneys.”
