	ANKARA - Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation against JINNEWS reporter Öznur Değer on the allegation of "propagandising for a terrorist organisation".

	 

	Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation against JINNEWS reporter Öznur Değer on the allegation of "propagandising for a terrorist organisation". The reason for the investigation was Değer's social media posts.

	 

	Değer testified at the Kızıltepe District Police Department TEM Branch. The colors yellow, red and green are featured in the photos, she took at the Democratic Regions Party's (DBP) congress held in Ankara Nazım Hikmet Culture Congress hall on February 27, 2022, and the Newroz celebrations in Van's Erciş district on March 21, 2022 and shared on her Twitter account, was considered a crime. It was claimed that while her post at the congress was "praising and supporting a terrorist organisation", the photo taken at Newroz Celebrations was belonging to  "a terrorist organisation flag". The photo of Arin Mirkan, who fought against ISIS  shared by Değer was also among the questions asked by the prosecutor.

	 

	Değer, who testified with her attorney at TEM, said that her posts on the social media fall within the scope of freedom of expression, and that her posts do not constitute any crime.
