Jinnews editor Gülşen Koçuk release: Request of arrest for 11 journalists 2022-06-15 17:10:54   DİYARBAKIR - While 11 of the 20 journalists were referred to court with a request of arrest, JİNNEWS editor Gülşen Koçuk was released. The rest of the journalists and two citizens are still giving their statements to the prosecutor.   JINNEWS Director Safiye Alagaş, JINNEWS editor Gülşen Koçuk, Dicle Fırat Journalists Association (DFG) Co-chair Serdar Altan, Xwebûn Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Ali Ertaş, Mesopotamia Agency (MA) editor Aziz Oruç, journalists Ömer Çelik, Suat Doğuhan, Ramazan Geciken, Esmer Tunç, Neşe Toprak, Zeynel Abidin Bulut, Mazlum Doğan Güler, Mehmet Şahin, Elif Üngür, İbrahim Koyuncu, Remziye Temel, Mehmet Yalçın, Abdurrahman Öncü, Lezgin Akdeniz, Kadir Bayram, Feynaz Koçuk and İhsan Ergülen who were detained within the scope of an investigation run by Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, are still at court, giving their statements to the prosecutor after an 8-day detention period.   JOURNALIST WAS ASKED WHAT WAR IS   The prosecutor asked Mesopotamia Agency (MA) editor Aziz Oruç about the TV programs he appeared, the language he used on those programs and questions like "What is war?", "What is the Kurdish question?" Safiye Alagaş was asked about the contents of JİNNNEWS reports and news contents. Both were referred to court with a request of arrest.   KOÇUK WAS RELEASED   Thye prosecutor referred JİNNEWS editor Gülşen Koçuk to the court with a request of judicial control measures. Koçuk was released after that and wellcomed by her colleagues outside. DFG Co-chair Serdar Altan, Xwebûn Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Ali Ertaş, Journalists Elif Üngür, Mehmet Şahin, Neşe Toprak, Esmer Tunç Ömer Çelik, Zeynel Abidin Bulut and Remziye Temel were referred to the court with the request for their arrest. The questioning of the other journalists continue. The colleagues of the journalists and their families continues to wait in front of the courthouse.
