Military shipment to Zap

	NEWS CENTER - After the air strikes, it was stated that the special forces of the KDP were sent to the Zap region, where intense clashes took place between the TAF and HPG members.

	Warplanes of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) bombed the Metîna, Avaşîn and Zap regions of the Federated Kurdistan Region yesterday evening. After the TAF bombardment, special forces affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) were deployed to the Kurêjaro region in the Zap region. According to Fırat News Agency (ANF), based on local sources, KDP special forces were deployed to Şêladize and Derelok, where intense clashes took place between the TAF and HPG after the air strikes.

	 

	ERDOĞAN- BARZANİ MEETING

	 

	It drew attention that Turkey's airstrikes and the KDP's military shipments to the region were made after the meeting of the Prime Minister of the Federated Kurdistan Region, Mesrur ​​Barzani, with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the AKP, in Istanbul on April 15.

	 

	KDP JOINED THE OPERATION

	 

	After Turkey failed to make any progress with its attacks on the Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn regions on April 23, 2021, KDP special forces made military shipments to the Amadiya and Metina regions on June 5, 2021. After this shipment, in the ambush set up by the KDP, which was involved in Turkey's cross-border attacks on 28-29 August 2021, 5 HPG members lost their lives, one was injured and two HPG members survived.

	 

	PREPERATIONS FOR NEW OPERATION 

	 

	The attacks were revealed by local sources, which included the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Roj peshmerga as well as KDP forces. Unable to make any progress in this operation, Turkey began preparations for a new operation in partnership with the KDP. The preparation for the operation in question came to the fore after Federated Kurdistan Regional President Nechirvan Barzani came to Turkey on February 2, 2022 and met with President Erdogan of AKP. This traffic continued with the meeting of the Prime Minister of the Federated Kurdistan Region, Mesrur ​​Barzani, with Erdogan on April 15 in Istanbul. After the Barzani-Erdogan meeting, intense shelling began in the region. According to the statement of the Union of Communities of Kurdistan (KCK) dated March 26 in the ANF, it was stated that Turkey was preparing a new operation with the partnership of the KDP.
