AYM ruled violation of rights regarding Leyla Güven's arrest 2022-04-09 14:53:02   DİYARBAKIR - The Constitutional Court has given a violation decision regarding the imprisonment of DTK Co-chair Leyla Güven despite she was an elected member of parliament.   The Constitutional Court (AYM) has ruled that the arrest of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MP Leyla Güven on the grounds of her social media posts against Turkey's attack on Afrin, and her being elected a parliamentarian in the June 24, 2018 elections and her release despite her parliamentary immunity, is a violation.   The Constitutional Court decided that "her right to personal freedom and security has been violated" in the detention of Güven, who was released but was re-arrested without being released upon the objection made by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.   Only the announcement of the decision made within the scope of Article 19 of the Constitution was published on the page of the Constitutional Court.
