It has been observed that the TAF has made a military build-up in all the villages closest to the Federated Kurdistan Region and on the border line. For the last week, military convoys of hundreds of vehicles have been passing on the Van-Hakkari and Şırnak-Hakkari highway. It did not go unnoticed that there were heavy weapons as well as armored vehicles in the convoys.   MILITARY BUILD-UP   While soldiers and armored vehicles dispatched in the border villages of Çukurca, a very intense military activity was observed in the region. Especially in Zawîte (Ormanlı), Aşût (Çığlı), Gêman (Köprülü) located on the border line of Çukurca district, Elemûn (Andaç) in Şırnak's Uludere district, Suvara Kotra region on the Şırnak-Hakkari border. While tents were set up for the dispatched soldiers, many official institution buildings were also evacuated and allocated for the soldiers to stay.    HIGH RANKING MILITARY OFFICIALS MEETING   It was learned that high-ranking military officials, who met at the police station in the Suvara Kotra region a short time ago, held a meeting and discussed in which regions the operation was planned. Local sources reported that there was such a large military activity for the first time. It was also stated that in the villages on the border line, rangers were forced to participate in the operation.   ZAP, METÎNA AND AVAŞÎN IS THE TARGET   The military operation launched by Turkey on April 23, 2021 against the Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn regions of the Federated Kurdistan Region has been going on for about a year. Despite the past year, the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) could not get the desired result in the operation carried out with the support of the special forces affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). In addition to the support of the special forces affiliated with the KDP, the Roj Peshmerga and groups affiliated with the Free Syrian Army (FSA) were reinforced in the operation, and the TAF, unable to make any progress, had to withdraw from the areas where it landed troops.   ONE-YEAR LONG PREPERATION   The stalemate in the operation, which has been going on for nearly a year, intensified the diplomatic traffic between Ankara and Hewler. Following the talks between Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and MIT Undersecretary Hakan Fidan in the Federated Kurdistan Region, Federated Kurdistan Regional President Nêçîrvan Barzani and AKP President Tayyip Erdoğan had another meeting. After this traffic that became continuous between Ankara and Hewlêr, a statement came from the Union of Communities of Kurdistan (KCK). KCK announced that it had been informed that Turkey was preparing a new cross-border operation with the direct participation of the KDP.
