Rights defenders are holding a press release regarding the first anniversary of the Şenyaşar family's sit-in. Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Berdan Öztürk, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Party Spokesperson Ebru Günay, HDP MPs Ömer Öcalan, Feleknas Uca, Ayşe Sürücü, members of the Peace Mothers Initiative, families staging a sit-in protest at the Diyarbakır Bar Association for prisonersaving served their time, Republican People's Party (CHP) Women's Branch, Human Rights Association (İHD) Urfa, Malatya, Diyarbakır, Şırnak, Batman, Mersin and Adıyaman branch members and Lawyers' Association for Freedom (ÖHD) Diyarbakır, Antep, Mersin and Urfa branch members, representatives from all regional bar associations and hundreds of citizens came to the Urfa Courthouse to support the Şenyaşar family.   ROSTRUM OF JUSTICE WAS ESTABLISHED   In the press release held for the Şenyaşar family, a rostrum of Justice was established. HDP Spokesperson Ebru Günay said that the sit-in has left one year behind. Explaining that the government protects the murderers, Günay stated that Emine Şenyaşar continues the sit-in despite all difficulties for a year. Günay said, "This sit-in is includes the demand for justice of millions of people. Emine Şenyaşar was subjected to systematic torture. When justice is provided for the Şenyaşar family, then we can say that there is justice in Turkey. Unfortunately, judges and prosecutors are not on the side of justice, but in a position protecting the murderers. We sit here together with the family in solidarity. We will continue to be in solidarity with the family until true justice comes, no matter how many years have passed."   'THE PEOPLE, WHO CANNOT FILE A LAW SUIT AGAINST THE KILLERS, SUED THE MOTHER'   DBP Co-Chair Saliha Aydeniz emphasized that Emine Şenyaşar is staging sit-in for everyone suffering from injustice. Stating that the courts must be the places where people get justice, Aydeniz stated that it has been about 4 years since the massacre and no law suits have been filed against the people who murdered 3 people from the Şenyaşar family, but a number of law suits were filed against the mother. Those who say they work for justice, law and equality could not file a law suit for their fear of government. This clearly shows the injustice in Turkey. We salute the stance of the mother and Ferit. As we insist that the Kurdish question is resolved through democratic means, they continue to attack us. Just as Emine Şenyaşar did not take a step back, we will not take a step back. Justice will come to Turkey and Kurdistan with the struggle for democracy. We will stand with the family until they get justice.   DTK Co-chair Berdan Öztürk said, "It was a massacre. We will always stand by the family. We know the perpetrators and they will be held to account."
