Main message in DBP Congress: Kurdish question will not be resolved without Öcalan 2022-03-01 12:03:24   ANKARA - HDP Diyarbakır MP İmam Taşçıer stated that the role of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in solving the Kurdish question was once again emphasized at the DBP congress and said: "Kurdish question can not be solved without Öcalan."   Saliha Aydeniz and Keskin Bayındır were re-elected as the Co-Chairs of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) in the 6th Ordinary Congress held in Ankara on February 27 with the slogan "Towards a Free Life with an Organized Society". The congress, which was attended by thousands of people from many cities from Hakkari to Istanbul, from Adana to Kırşehir, pointed out the role of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in solving the Kurdish problem and demanded his freedom. National unity was once again emphasized both by the people speaking at the congress and by the people who sent messages to the congress. One of the most important subjects emphasized was the the pressures against Kurdish.   EMPHASIS ON NATIONAL UNITY   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Diyarbakır MP İmam Taşçıer evaluated the messages given at the congress. Stating that the Third Path was strongly emphasized at the congress, Taşçıer said: "It was emphasized that democracy can not be achieved without solving the Kurdish question and taking steps regarding this issue. Also, the alliance between the Kurds and the Kurdish unity came to the fore."   ÖCALAN'S POWER ON TERMS OF SOLVING THE KURDISH QUESTION   Underlining that one of the most important headlines in the congress was the removal of the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and his messages to be able to reach the people, Taşçıer said: "The Kurdish question can not be solved without Öcalan. Even steps towards a solution can not be taken. The fact that Öcalan must be given the role as the leader of the Kurdish people in the solution of the Kurdish question was reiterated at the congress."   NEWROZ 2022   Stating that there is a concensus on celebrating the Newroz en masse, Taşçıer said that the upcoming peroid is at utmost importance in terms of a solution to the Kurdish question. Taşçıer said: "Policies on the extermination and denial of the Kurds have been pursued since the establishment of the Turkish Republic,” and stressed that the Kurdish struggle, which was thought to have been suppressed from time to time, has come out stronger each time."   ECONOMIC CRISIS IS NOT INDEPENDENT FROM THE KURDISH QUESTION   Stating that the problems in Turkey will be solved when the Kurdish question is solved, Taşçıer said: "The September 12 coup took Turkey back 50 years. The pressure on Kurds intensified after that. Villages were evacuated, people were executed extrajudicially. Turkey's economy tanked in 94, than again in 2000's because the Kurdish question was not solved. As long as the Kurds are being supressed, most of the budget was spent on war. With the peace process in 2013, the economy started to improve, however when the peace process ended in 2015 economy shrank again and here we are 7 years later. The economic relief in Turkey is strongly connected to the Kurdish question. Democracy will serve the economy in Turkey."
