TAJÊ Spokesperson: Yazidis stood up with Öcalan's philosophy 2022-02-15 14:45:51   NEWS CENTER - TAJÊ Spokesperson Sabiha Sebrî stated that Yazidis stood up with the philosophy of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and said, "We must embrace the philosophy of Leader Apo and ensure his physical freedom."   Yazidi Women's Freedom Movement (TAJÊ) Spokesperson Sabiha Sebrî made evaluations to the Fırat News Agency (ANF) regarding the February 15 international conspiracy against PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the isolation system that has been going on for 23 years. Reminding the ISIS attacks on Shengal that started on August 3, 2014, Sebrî said, "There were nearly 2,000 Peshmerga, there were Iraqi military forces, but they did not defend us against ISIS. But they left the lands they called 'our honour' and left the Yazidi people in the hands of ISIS. As the Yazidi people, we will never forget those days. Thousands of women and children lost their lives."   ÖCALAN'S PHILOSOPHY   Sebrî said, “The arrival of freedom guerrillas in Shengal following the ISIS attacks has been a great hope for us. Because until then we had no hope left. When ISIS attacked, many states, especially local forces, turned a blind eye to these attacks. The Turkish state provided assistance to ISIS mercenaries. Their aim was to destroy the Yazidi community. Although the freedom guerrillas were few in number, they showed a great resistance in Shengal and gave us hope. They sacrificed their lives for the Yazidi community. We will never forget their sacrifices and them who acted on the philosophy of Leader Apo."   THE REALITY OF WOMEN IN SHENGAL   Stating that the establishment process of the autonomous system started in Shengal after the defeat of the ISIS gangs, Sebrî said, “We got to know the thoughts and philosophy of Leader Apo. Leader Apo's philosophy is for all peoples to be free, not just the Kurdish people. We did not see Leader Apo physically, but Yezidî women have a deep attachment to him. Women who could not get out of their houses in Shengal and only do housework, returned to their essence after the ISIS attack. They stood up and recognized themselves with the philosophy of Leader Apo. What is the meaning of our existence as women, why do we live? We've been thinking about for this. Leader Apo says that if you are going to liberate a society, women must be liberated at first. We see this fact in Shengal as well. Women suffered the most from that ISIS attack, they were murdered, raped, sold in the markets, their children died of hunger and thirst. That's why we started resistance and built a new life based on Leader Apo's philosophy. In a short period of 2-3 years, Yazidi women took up arms and started to defend their land and learned self-defense. Young Yazidi women sold by ISIS in the markets took up arms and fought against ISIS.”   WOMEN'S SUCCESS   Emphasizing that this is a great success for Yazidi women, Sebrî said, “Thanks to the efforts of Leader Apo and his fighters, Yazidi women have been reborn. As the Yazidi community, we owe a great debt to Leader Apo and the freedom guerrillas who rushed to us during the ISIS massacre. The PKK not only saved the Yazidi people from ISIS, but also protected the honour of the Iraqi state. Freedom guerrillas defended humanity against ISIS gangs."   ÖCALAN'S THOUGHTS CAME TO LIFE   Drawing attention to Turkey's air strikes against Shengal, Sabiha Sebrî said, "After getting to know the philosophy of Leader Apo and starting to fight on this basis, the enemy's attacks on Shengal increased even more. Especially after 2014, Leader Apo's meetings with his family and lawyers were completely cut off. We cannot think of the attacks on Shengal and the isolation on Leader Apo independently of each other. Because today Leader Apo's thoughts came to life in Shengal. Now the Yazidi people are organizing based on the philosophy and thoughts of Leader Apo. Today, all kinds of attacks, including chemical weapons, are carried out against the guerrillas who saved the Yazidi people from ISIS gangs and defended humanity. However, states and non-governmental organizations that say they defend human rights remained silent. This silence means they are approving attacks. As the Yazidi people, we condemn these attacks against the guerrilla. Some of the guerrillas fighting against ISIS gangs were killed by chemical weapons. Those murdered guerrillas are a part of us, we see them as the children of Shengal."    CALL FOR FREEDOM   Stating by Sebri “As the Yazidi people, we should never forget 2014 and embrace the philosophy of Leader Apo, in which all peoples came to life. When Leader Apo regains his physical freedom, these ongoing wars in the Middle East will also come to an end. That's why everyone should join the movement for the physical freedom of Leader Apo."
