Mother's sit in continues on its 101th day to claim bodies of their children 2022-01-13 11:22:48   NEWS CENTER - Families who have been staging a sit in at the Sêmalka Border Gate for 101 to recieve the bodies of their children said: "There is no difference between AKP and KDP."   In parallel with the operations launched by Turkey in the Federated Kurdistan Region on April 23, 2021, armed special forces affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) built up in the region alongside Turkey. In the ambush set up by the KDP forces in the Xelîfan region of the Federated Kurdistan Region on August 28-29, 5 HPG members lost their lives, one of them  survived injured. KDP, which is holding the bodies of HPG members hostage for the last 137 days, closed the Semalka and El Welis Border Gates on  December 16 without any valid reasons.   While the KDP has not made a statement regarding the sit in that has been carried out by the families at the border gate for 101 days, the families continue their protests despite all the obstructions.   'WE WILL CONTINUE THE SIT IN UNTIL OUR BODIES ARE RELEASED TO US'   Underlining that they will continue the sit in until the bodies of their children are released to them despite all obstructions, Fatma Husen said: "Our sit in at the Sêmalka border gate continues on its 101st day. Many institutions and organisations support us and participate in our sit in. We will continue the sit in until the bodies of our children are released to us. The attitude of KDP indicates that they released the bodies to Turkey. The betrayals of KDP is out there for everyone to see. Our call to all international institutions is to hold talks with the KDP for our bodies to released to us."   'THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN KDP AND AKP'   Miha Zoro told that the KDP is carrying out the instructions of Turkey by not releasing the bodies. Pointing out that they have been staging this sit in for 3 seasons, Zoro said: "We will continue this sit in even if it takes 10 years. KDP is an ally of Turkey. It is ruling Kurdistan with the mindset of Turkey."   'KDP IS DOING WHAT AKP IS DOING'   Fadıl Cuma underlined that they will continue the sit in until the situation is resolved, and said: "Mothers want the bodies of their child to be released to them. KDP is dping what AKP is doing. Not releasing the bodies is a common decision. But its hard to see that a Kurd is doing this to another Kurd. Enough is enough. This oppression will continue unless we unite. We have been staging this sit in for over 3 months and KDP hasn't made a statement yet. How long will they remain silent? Closing the border is a part of that plan. Our only demand is the release of the bodies of our children."     MA / Zeynep Durgut
