Seriously ill prisoner Özkan tests positive for Covid once again 2021-12-21 15:51:20   DİYARBAKIR - Özkan who was hospitalized for testing positive for Covid- 19 and brought back to prison after treatment, tested positive once again.   Mehmet Emin Özkan, an 83-year-old seriously ill prisoner held in Diyarbakır Type D Prison, tested positive for coronavirus (Kovid-19) with his son Ahmet Özkan on December 6. Özkan, whose condition worsened and had difficulty breathing, was taken to Diyarbakır Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital on December 8.  Özkan, who was among the risky group due to his chronic illnesses, was taken back to prison on December 12 before he tested negative. Being hold in a quarantine cell, Özkan have been testing positive for Covid- 19 for the last 16 days.   Özkan's test, which has been kept in a quarantine cell since then, has not turned negative in the past 16 days.   Özkan's son Nevzat Özkan told that he spoke to his father on the phone yesterday and both his father and brother tested positive again. Conveying his concern that it might me the delta variant, Nevzat Özkan told that both his father and brother are still held in a quarantine cell and his father has frequent fits of coughing.
