Minors beaten under police custody 2021-11-17 16:06:35   MARDİN - The children who were subjected to violence by the police at the police station after being detained in Nusaybin district said that they were laid on the ground in the basement, and that they were exposed to the violence and threats of the police.   During the house raids carried out in the Nusaybin district of Mardin on November 14  accompanied by special operations teams, the doors of the houses were broken down and 4 children aged between 13 and 17 were detained. 13-year-old H.E, 15-year-old A.A and 19-year-old Hakan E. who were accused of 'being a member of a terrorist organisation' and 'throwing combustible material to the police station' was released on condition of judicial control.    Children exposed to violence at the police station spoke about the violence they suffered at the prosecutor's office and in court. The children stated that they would file a criminal complaint against the police at the Nusaybin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.    CHILDREN BEATEN BY THE POLICE   Stating that he was subjected to police violence in the police car and at the Nusaybin District Police Department TEM Branch, 15-year-old A.A. said that he had bruises on his face, around his eyes and on his legs. Explaining that he was called to the police station to give a statement on an unknown subject A.A. said that their house was raided after he went to the police station. A.A. said, “They locked us in a room at the police station and beat us. We slept on the floor in a room in the basement until morning. The policemen insulted us, showed us pictures and asked us to testify against our friends. When we told them we didn't know anything they beat us. They told us we have torpedoed the police station. We told them we didn't but the police beat us again. They told us that they will beat us until the sunrise. Then we were taken to the prosecutor's office and he released us after we gave our statements.    16-year-old F.E who had a surgery a while ago, told that the police broke down their door and raided their house. Stating that he was subjected to police violence while he was still recovering from the surgery, F.E told that the police held a gun to the head of his 6-year-old sister. Stating that he was asked a lot of questions, F.E said: "They slammed me into the wall a couple of times. There were 6 of them. They slapped me. They punched me in the eye and beat my feet."   THREATENED WITH POLICE BATON   13-year-old H.E said: "They hit my head to the table. Showed me the police baton and asked me if they should beat me or my friend with it. They asked me who I knew. They beat me. Hakan asked them why they were beating me, they hit him in the head. They continued to beat us while we were giving our statements. We told about the police violence and wanted to file a criminal complaint. They told us we were terrorists, we were helping the PKK and we detonated a bomb near a police station."     MA / Ahmet Kanbal
