Journalist Aykol: Now it's time for the People's Alliance to take a step 2021-09-27 16:34:18 ANKARA - Stating that the HDP declaration will assume a leading role in the future, Journalist- Writer Hüseyin Aykol said: "HDP underlined that it only cares about democracy addressing the People's Alliance. Now it is time for the People's Alliance to take a step."   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) announced the "Call to Democracy, Justice and Peace" Declaration, which consists of 11 principles. In the declaration, the principles of democratization, Kurdish problem, poverty, ecology and women's problems and political developments were underlined. With the declaration, HDP emphasized that it is ready to negotiate with the social parties and political actors, to put up a struggle together and told that they are ready for a common administration.   Journalist- writer Hüseyin Aykol who underlined the importance of the declaration in terms of leading the politics in the upcoming days, told that the declaration responds to questions such as who the interlucator in the Kurdish question. Aykol stated that the HDP, which aspires to the administration of Turkey, has announced a declaration in which it addresses the problems of all segments and offers a solution.   EMPHASIS ON JUSTICE AND PEACE   Aykol continued: "I saw a very well coordinated party program that reveals what the HDP wants to do when it comes to power. In general, the following highlights are very important; ‘The one-man regime is absolutely unacceptable and we need to get rid of this regime. In the first elections, it is necessary to return to the parliamentary regime. However, the parliamentary regime alone is not a solution for the country's democracy and separation of powers. When we move to a parliamentary regime, we want justice and peace.' So I saw it as a carefully studied and successful program.”   IT PRESENTED ITS PRINCIPLES   Pointing out that there is an effort to squeeze the HDP into the Kurdish question, Aykol said: "The HDP has announced a program that seeks to bring solutions to all segments and to come to power in this sense. The HDP answered how the parliamentary regime should be, removing itself away from discussions such as "How to solve the Kurdish problem, who is the interlocutor". In this sense, it never entered into the presidential candidate discussion. Instead, it laid out his principles on how a democratic country should be governed.”   IT'S PEOPLE'S ALLIANCE'S TURN NOW   Emphasizing that the declaration has a special importance in the transition period, Aykol pointed out that the newly elected president should issue some decrees in order to switch to the parliamentary system. Stating that the Nation Alliance should make a promise to the people about what they will do when they lead the society, Aykol said, "There is a text that the HDP has signed, covering all segments of the society. There is a very short and concise program on how the justice system and local governments should be. What is expected now is what kind of text the Nation Alliance will sign. I do not expect a text beyond the text put forward by the HDP, but they should at least announce a declaration containing close principles."   'HDP BECAME A PIONEER'   Saying that HDP's declaration will play a leading role in shaping of the politics of the next period, Aykol said, "HDP says it only cares about democracy, not who the next president will be. This is what I understand from democracy. What is your definition of democracy? I do not discuss names. Chose a candidate in line with these principles addressing especially the People's Alliance.  Now it's the People's Alliance's turn to make a statement and take action. This is not a promise they need to make to the Kurdish voters, it is a promise that must be made to all people who want to get rid of the Erdogan regime."     MA / Berna Kişin
