After the collective bargaining agreement (TİS) process between the Journalists' Union of Turkey (TGS) and the Turkey office of Agence France - Presse (AFP) ended in disagreement, a strike decision was posted on the office's door. TGS Chairman Gökan Durmuş, who made a statement at the door of the office, stated that they have been holding talks with AFP for more than 3 months and said that the employers came to the table with ridicuous offers Noting that the employees at the AFP Turkey office do not demand exorbitant wages, Durmuş said, "They are just trying to protect their wages in the face of inflation. We will expect a positive step to be taken within a period of 1 or 2 weeks. If no positive steps are taken, we will start the strike. There will be no news from the AFP Turkey office anymore. In the face of real inflation figures, our friends' wages should be protected.” 'REASONABLE REQUESTS'  Calling on the  AFP General Representative, Durmuş said, "We do not want exorbitant figures. Our demands are very reasonable. They are not demands that cannot be met on your part. Therefore, listen to our demands and sign this contract as soon as possible." After the announcement, strike decisions were posted on the door of the AFP Turkey office.
