CPJ demands journalist Hesen to be released 2021-04-27 15:47:19   NEWS CENTER - The International Committee for the Protection of Journalists requested the release of ANF reporter Rêbaz Hesen, who was detained while he was following a demonstration in Slemani.   The International Committee for the Protection of Journalists (CPJ) made a statement regarding Fırat News Agency (ANF) reporter Rêbaz Hesen, who was detained in the city of Sulaymaniyah in the Federal Kurdistan Region on 25 April. CPJ Middle East and North Africa Representative Ignacio Miguel Delgado said: "The Kurdish state officials in North Iraq says they respect the freedom of press but this arrest proves this discourse is a lie.   Delgado wanted Hesen to be released as soon as possible and to provide the necessary environment for journalists working in the region to practice their profession freely. Delgado added that the PUK Press Office has not yet responded to them regarding Rêbaz Hesen.
