Investigation against 6 municipalities for 'human trafficking' 2021-04-19 14:17:50 NEWS CENTER - The Ministry of Interior launched a central investigation against the six municipalities mentioned regarding "human trafficking" with a gray passport. Malatya Yeşilyurt Municipality of AKP have sent 53 people to the Hannover city of Germany on September 2020 for a campaign called 'Raising individuals aware of the environment'. When most of the 53 people sent to Germany did not come back, claims of 'human trafficking' was brought to the agenda.  An inspector was assigned for the investigation after the incident, which was reveled with a parliamentary question tabled by the municipal councilors.   Documentation that the incident was not limited to the Yeşilyurt Municipality and that similar incidents were experienced in many AKP municipalities were reflected in the press.   In the statement made by the Ministry of Interior, it was announced that an investigation was initiated against 6 municipalities.   It was also stated by the local authorities that they temporarily suspended sending people other than public officials abroad.
