Hunger striking prisoners: We have fabsolute confidence in peace and freedom 2021-04-10 11:39:58   MARDIN - The prisoners held in Mardin E Type Closed Prison sent the message, "We believe that we will be one step closer to peace and freedom by stepping up the resistance we took over from the Mazlum, Kemal, and Hayri."   Demanding the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan is lifted and human rights violations in prisons to end, there is an ongoing indefinite-rotating hunger strike continuing in the prisons of Turkey for 135 days.    Prisoners in Mardin Type E Closed Prison sent messages via their families.   Stating they are hunger striking in groups for 5 days, the prisoners told that Serhat Boğaakçe and Hüseyin Ali from Rojava will take over the hunger strike with the others hunger striking with the 28th group.    Noting that they are very determined since the hunger strike actions started on November 27, 2020, the prisoners stated the purpose of their actions with the words "In addition to breaking the isolation imposed on Abdullah Öcalan, who has been kept under aggravated isolation for 22 years, we are now aiming for the physical freedom of our leader."   'OUR PEOPLE SHOULD BE WITH US IN THIS HISTORIC MOMENT'   Emphasizing that they will not give up their demands, the message of the prisoners is as follows: “Our call to the patriotic people of Kurdistan is to continue to raise their voices wherever they are and to continue to be in solidarity with the prisoners until the isolation on Abdullah Öcalan is broken and his physical freedom is ensured. Us, the prisoners, will do our part to further step up our resistance. In addition to breaking the isolation imposed upon our leader, who has been imprisoned for 22 years, we are now aiming for the physical freedom of our leader. We firmly believe that we will be one step closer to peace and freedom by stepping up the resistance that we took over from Mazlum, Kemal and Hayri. With this belief, our patriotic people of Kurdistan should stand with us through this historical moment."
