MP Öcalan: That phonecall was a provocation 2021-03-27 13:35:15   URFA - Stating that the phone call with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan was a provocation, HDP Urfa Deputy Ömer Öcalan said: "It made us more concerned. We can't obtain any information on the life and health conditions of Mr. Öcalan."   PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who has been kept under severe isolation for 22 years in the Imrali High Security F-Type Closed Prison, has not been allowed to meet with his family and lawyers for 11 months. The applications made by the family and lawyers to see him after the allegations on his health conditions on social media were left unanswered. His brother Mehmet Öcalan was called to the Urfa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to have a phonecall with his brother Abdullah Öcalan on March 25. The phonecall was interrupted after 4-5 minutes. Abdullah Öcalan underlined that if there will be communication, it must be in İmralı and told that he wants to see his lawyers.   Evaluating the phonecall, Abdullah Öcalan's nephew Ömer Öcalan said it was a pirate phonecall.   'FRIVOLITY'   Öcalan said that his father Mehmet Öcalan was called for a phone call on March 24 and informed that a phonecall would be made on March 25, and that they went to the Urfa Courthouse with PKK Leader Öcalan's guardian lawyer Mazlum Dinç and his father Mehmet Öcalan. HDP's Öcalan said, "The phonecall was interrupted shortly after it started. We asked the officials there. We asked for a meeting with the Attorney General. Attorney General stated that the phonecall had ended. The last telephone conversation made with Mr. Öcalan was on April 27, 2020. That phonecall lasted about 25 minutes. But this one, which took place on March 25, lasted for 4.5 minutes. Mr. Öcalan says that this is not the way and that the phonecall was not lawful and is not to be accepted. It lacks seriousness. It was a pirate phonecall. We want the law applied."   'WE ARE MORE CONCERNED NOW'   Öcalan, who invited the state to be serious, said, “The state should approach this situation seriously. It should act according to its own weight. If there is a different situation, the Minister of Justice should come out and make a statement. This frivolity is unacceptable. This phonecall only made us more concerned. This can only be a provocation. We don't accept it. Mr. Öcalan demands to see his lawyers, as it is his right. We can not obtain any information about Mr. Öcalan.     MA / Barış Polat - Lezgin Tekay
