19 sentenced to prison for attending October 10 memorial 2021-03-26 13:49:03 URFA - 19 people were sentenced to a total of 7 years 9 months of prison sentence for attending October 10 memorial.   The lawsuit filed against 19 people who participated in the memorial organized by the Urfa Labor and Democracy Platform regarding those who lost their lives at the bomb attack by ISIS on October 10, 2015 in Ankara Station Square has been finalized. The crowd gathered in Topçular Square on October 11, 2015 and held a march. Two months after the march, on 19 December 2015, 25 people, including the co-chairs of the Labor and Democracy Platform were detained in house raids for allegedly 'propagandizing a terrorist organization'.   The 10th hearing of the case held at the Urfa 8th Criminal Court of First Instance. 19 people were given 5 years of prison sentence for opposing the law on demonstrations and the announcement of the verdict was deferred.   Those sentenced to prison are; Leyla Coşkun, Mehmet Duvar, Rıdvan Yavuz, Ruken Kılınç, Ali Azger, Atila Yazar, Besra Yıldırım, Celal Babacan, Dilek Çakırtaş, İbrahim Halil Sağlam, Mehmet Duvar, Mehmet Melik, Nalan Durdu, Reşat Doğan, Servet Yazar, Sevinç İzol Özipek, Vedat Gökler, Leyla Sezen ve Yusuf Geçgel.
