Öcalan's attorney: We want to see our client in person 2021-03-17 11:58:25 İSTANBUL - Responding to the statement of the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the allegations against PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, one of his lawyers, Ibrahim Bilmez, said: "We want to see our client in person."   The Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office eventually issued a written statement two days after posts had been spread on social media talking about the possible death of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan.   Ibrahim Bilmez, one of the lawyers of Abdullah Öcalan, spoke to the Mezopotamya Agency about the statement issued by the Prosecutor, who dismissed the allegations as unfounded.   Stating that the demands are the same today as they were yesterday, Bilmez said: “Why should we wait or rely on such statements from the Prosecutor's Office in order to be sure of the life safety and health of our client and to receive news? Is this 'normal' in a state of law? We repeat today what we said yesterday; isolation should be lifted immediately. Our client, Mr. Öcalan and other prisoners in Imralı should be able to exercise their most basic legal rights. They should be able to talk to their family and their lawyers, and be able to enjoy telephone and other communication rights. We, as their lawyers, want to go to Imrali and see our clients in person and in this way be sure that their health is good and offer the legal assistance they need.”
