	DİYARBAKIR - Photographs compiled from the Newroz celebrated in the 1990s when the Kurdish national consciousness was on the rise, shed light on the recent period.

	Kurds are preparing to welcome the Newroz fire, which has never died out for 39 years, as the last breath of Mazlum Doğan, the Contemporary Kawa of modern Kurdish nationalization, carrying the legacy of Ironmonger Kawa with 3 matchsticks.

	&nbsp;

	The Newroz fire, the legacy of the Ironmonger Kawa, whose origins date back thousands of years, burned the modern Kawa of the Kurds Mazlum Doğan with 3 matchsticks in Diyarbakır Prison on March 21, 1982. This act of Mazlum Doğan turned into a national consciousness day by day and gave Newroz its soul. Newroz, which has become the symbol of national consciousness in time, has reached a level that cannot be removed from the agenda of the Kurds with the resistance against violent repression in the 1990s.

	NON-EXTINGUISHABLE NEWROZ FIRE

	Newroz, which gained a political identity during 90s and became popularized in the 2000s, was celebrated exponentially every year. While Newroz, the event with the broadest participation to shout out the demands of the Kurdish people, was celebrated from metropols to villages, attempts to prevent it were defeated by the struggle of the people every time.

	&nbsp;

	When the suppression failed, the "protocol Nevruz" invented by the state officials could not go beyond making its owners look ridiculous.
