Supreme Court launched an investigation against HDP 2021-03-02 17:03:24   ANKARA - The Supreme Court Chief Public Prosecutor's Office started an investigation against the HDP which MHP Chair Devlet Bahçeli repeatedly stated that he want the party to be closed.   The Office of Political Parties of the Office of the Supreme Court of Appeals wrote to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and requested that the indictment against 108 defendants, including Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) former Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ, be sent to them together with the attachments of the Kobanê indictment.   Within the scope of the Kobanê investigation, a summary was issued about 9 HDP deputies, including HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan. The Office of the Chief Prosecutor also asked for the copy of these reports. Emphasizing that the activities of all political parties are being investigated, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office said they requested these files for a routine examination.   If the HDP is determined to be the "focus of organizational actions" as a result of the examination by the Chief Prosecutor's Office, which is responsible for monitoring the activities of political parties, a closure case against the HDP may be brought to the agenda.
