Turkish Medical Association asks ministry to inform public about CoronaVac side effects 2021-01-25 16:43:07   ANKARA - The association says that it has received information about unexpected side effects of the vaccine.   The Turkish Medical Association (TTB) has sent letters to the Ministry of Health, asking it to disclose information about the unexpected side effects of the coronavirus vaccine procured from China.   "Information such as there were problems in the vaccination and some symptoms occur after vaccination is conveyed to us by our medical chambers," says a letter sent by TTB Chair Prof. Şebnem Korur-Fincancı to Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca.   Today (January 25), Turkey received the second batch of CoronaVac, a jab produced by China's Sinovac company, containing six-and-a-half million doses.   It received three-and-a-half million doses in late December and started mass vaccination on January 14.   According to the ministry's website, nearly 1.3 million people, mostly health workers and those older than 85, were vaccinated as of 4.15 p.m. today.   The TTB previously stated that Turkey needs at least 120 million vaccine doses in six months to achieve full immunity.
