Third time on hunger strike: Isolation is hostility against peace

	VAN - Musa Sertkal and Fehmi Arslan, who will go on a hunger strike for the third time against the Imrali isolation, stated that the isolation is "hostility against peace" and that they will take their actions to the next level if their demands are not met.

	 

	The indefinite- rotating hunger strike in prisons against the isolation imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, is on its 20th day. Musa Sertkal and Fehmi Aslan from Kocaeli Kandıra No 1 Type F Closed Prison, both sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment, stated that they will join the hunger strike action.

	 

	Both prisoners, who went on a hunger strike against the imposition of uniform clothing and Type F prisons in 2012 and the isolation against Öcalan in 2018, sent messages about their actions in a phone call with their families.

	 

	THE MESSAGE OF THE PRISONERS

	 

	The message of the prisoners are as follows: "We have paid great prices for a permanent and dignified peace as the Kurds. As PKK and PJAK prisoners and convicts, as soldiers of the freedom struggle of the Kurdish people, we always consider it a duty to step up the struggle even if we are behind bars. We repeat once again that we will fight this at the cost of our lives. We once again want to say that the isolation on the Kurdish people's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is the architect of peace and hope, is unacceptable. Those who are unable to see that the policies of denial and annihilation applied to Kurds throughout the history have yielded no results, want to continue this annihilation with the isolation. The isolation imposed on the Kurdish people's Leader Mr. Abdullah Öcalan, who has been fighting for peace for 21 years, since March 20, 1993, the first ceasefire, is hostility against peace."

	 

	CALL FOR SOLIDARITY 

	 

	"We are calling for solidarity of all democratic public opinion in our struggle for peace. We declare that we will turn this rotating- indefinite hunger strike to non- rotating- indefinite hunger strike, and later if neccessary to death fasts, if our demands are not met. We call for support of all peoples in our democratic and peaceful action."
