Journalist Elî: There have been Turkmen groups among the soldiers sent to Shengal 2020-11-25 13:36:41 ISTANBUL - The journalist FirmêskElî, who evaluated the deployment of Iraqi army troops to the region as a "new decree" within the scope of the agreement made between Iraq and the Federated Kurdistan administration against Shengal, said, "Amongst  the  soldiers sent were Turkmen groups."   Within the scope of the agreement signed between Iraq and the Federated Kurdistan administration on October 9, the Iraqi army announced yesterday that 10 thousand soldiers were sent to the region.Upon this, the Shengal Democratic Autonomous Council (MXDŞ) made a statement including the size of military shipments and possible developments that may occur afterwards, and named the possible developments to be experienced as the 75th edict.   Journalist FirmêskElî, who closely follows the events in the region, stated that Shengal was under siege and the 75th decree was at the door, calling for sensitivity to all Kurdish people.   SHENGAL HAS BEEN UNDER SİEGE   Stating that they have reached the information that 6 thousand soldiers affiliated to the Iraqi army have been sent to the vicinity of Shengal so far, and the aim is to place 10 thousand soldiers in the region, Elî drew attention to the fact that many strategic points of the region were kept and Shengal was under siege.  Stating that military shipments to the region has continued, Elî said, “There were Turkmen groups among the soldiers sent. They were brought from places like Talafar. There were also forces tied to different groups. Consequently, this has startled the people living in the region. Iraqi army  sent special forces called Anti-Terror. They made a statement saying, "We are sending our battalions to change them," but nobody opposed the arrival of so many soldiers. Nobody left  here. They try to make the situation look normally. They have been  trying to make it look as if there was only a power shift. They  have tried to defuse  with such explanations. There has been  a very intense mobilisation. He has claimed “ They are trying to scare the people and carry out a silent invasion, ”   NEW DECREE  HAZARD   Expressing that the people of Shengal have been holding meetings everywhere and discussing what needs to be done against the situation, Elî said, “In his statement, the MXDŞ made an urgent solidarity call to all defenders of freedom. Shengal faces 75th edict. Because Shengal has been surrounded from all sides. The border between Rojava and Shengal and many strategic areas have been  surrounded by soldiers. When ISIS attacked in 2014, the Iraqi army withdrew its soldiers. The KDP peshmerga withdrew. This is what Shengal's fear is,anyway. The people say, “why did these soldiers not defend us when ISIS came?” We created our strength, established a peaceful system, established our management and service institutions,” why are they coming now?” "We found some peace, are they coming now?"    MA / Idris Sayılğan
