Prisoner suffering from cancer diagnosed with Covid-19 in prison 2020-11-03 12:39:05   DİYARBAKIR - Cancer patient Necmettin Ayan, a prisoner being held in Diyarbakır No 1 High Security Prison tested positive for Coronavirus. Ayan's family said the prisoners' wards are over crowded.    Necmettin Ayan (60), a cancer patient who was held for a criminal offense in Diyarbakır No.1 High Security Prison, was hospitalized last week after he started feeling ill in his ward. Ayhan who tested positive for coronavirus, was taken to Gazi Yaşargil Training And Research Hospital for treatment.     His daughter Derya Ayan said his father was suffering from many chronic diseases beside cancer, like shotness of breath, lung disease, diabetes, high blood pressure. Stating that the prisoners are in great danger because hygiene rules are not followed in prisons, Ayan said 18 people are being held in wards made for 8 people.    Stating that she is concerned for her father's life, Ayan said: "My father is in prison for 4 years. We learned about his cancer 2 years ago. He as many diseases, and now he has coronavirus. The wards in prison are over crowded more than its capacity. It's inevitable for people to get coronavirus."
