Van Chief Public Prosecutor likes website targeting journalists 2020-10-10 13:38:28 VAN -  Van Chief Public Prosecutor Orhan Dönmez liked the website called 'Van Post' sharing information on detained journalists' file, even though there was a confidentiality order on the file issued by the prosecutor's office.    Our agency's reporter Adnan Bilen and Cemil Uğur, and Jinnews reporter Şehriban Abi and journalist Nazan Sala, who were arrested yesterday in Van, were still in custody, and there was a confidentiality order on the file issued by the Van Chief Public Prosecutor's Office when the Van Chief Public Prosecutor Orhan Dönmez liked the website leaking information on the file against our the journalists from twitter. Reacting to the arrests of her colleagues, journalits Ruşen Takva was also targeted by the website. Takva said no action was taken by the prosecutor's office even though he repeatedly filed criminal complaints about the persons targeting him.   Demanding an explanation on how these information was obtained while even the lawyers couldn't get any information due to the confidentiality order, Takva was also targeted by the website, which responded 'Have you asked the same question to the websites affiliated to KCK/PKK?'   TAKVA: HOW CAN THE PROSECUTOR LIKE THE DECISION?   Speaking to Artı Gerçek, journalist Ruşen Takva drew attention to the fact that the site in question shared the contents of the file with a confidentiality order. Emphasizing that the Van Chief Public Prosecutor liked the post leaking information on a file he, himself issued a confidentiality order for, Takva said: "This publication targeted our detained friends with information they couldn't have. Our criticizing this fact was presented to be a reason for us to be targeted too. I wonder, how does an attorney general, who is the highest prosecution authority in Van can like a leaked information on Twitter? What would the prosecutor do to me if I obtained information from a file that has a confidentiality order and wrote about it? Would he like my article, or would he show his 'appreciation' by getting the police knock down my door at dawn? I think this is exactly what the public should be discussing within the limits of law and democracy."
