Summaries against 23 lawyers opposing multiple bar associations 2020-10-02 10:44:57 ANKARA - Ankara Police Department prepared summaries against 23 lawyers who participated in the protests against the multiple bar association regulation.   Ankara Police Department carried out an investigation into the demonstration organized by bar association heads and lawyers against the regulation of multiple bar associations in July. The police submitted the summaries prepared against 23 lawyers for injuring 39 police officers to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The lawyers are accused of committing the crimes of "opposition to the Law No.2911", "resisting to the police", "deliberate injury", "insulting a public official due to his duty" and "crime against the Turkish flag" in the demonstration held on 3 July 2020 in front of Ankara Courthouse.    'DID 23 LAWYERS INJURED 39 POLICE OFFICERS?'   The police officers, whose statements were included in the summary, claimed that they were insulted and battered. In the report, where the social media posts and surveillence camera recordings of the demonstration of the bar associations and legal organizations are shown as evidence, the lawyers were accused of “Throwing accordion barriers at the police officers, throwing water bottles, banners etc. to the police officers whose duty is to ensure public order.   It was learned that of the 23 lawyers about whom a summary was prepared, 13 were registered in Ankara, 3 in Istanbul, 3 in Eskişehir, 2 in Antep, one in Bursa and one in Adana.
