Call from Ünsal for Akman on death fast 2020-09-11 13:02:19 İZMİR - Death fasting lawyer AYtaç Ünsal who was released last week called for Didem Akman who is still on death fast. Aytaç Ünsal who was released from the hospital's prison ward on the 214th day of the death fast drew attention to Didem Akman who is not beyond critical condition.   Stating that he was released as a result of the struggle of the people, Ünsal said: "We made the whole world hear about the hopelessness of the situation in Turkey. They had to release me because we partially overcame the unlawful conditions imposed on us."   Noting that the death fasts continue in Turkey, Ünsal reminded that Didem Akman is on the 206th day of the death fast and she is in critical condition.   Stating that Akman is being held in a hospital against her will, Ünsal said her only demand is to be transferred to Sincan Women's Closed Prison. Pointing out that she can only go to the prison yard alone for an hour, Ünsal said: "She wants to see her family together at the visiting hours, not with one person. This actually is the law and this is her right. Didem can not walk or talk now. She is at the door of death and therefore we have to make her voice be heard. I call out to all friends who followed and supported our process. Let's keep Didem Akman alive, let's be the hope for her demands to be accepted as soon as possible."
