Hunger strike in Kırşehir prison on its 112nd day

	MERSİN - Cumali Yıldırım, one of the prisoners on a rotating hunger strike in Kırşehir Type E Prison said they are being held in solitary confinement for 4 months, they only have access to cold water 30 minutes a day and can only go to the prison yard 20 minutes a day.

	 

	The hunger strike initiated by 13 prisoners on May 19, continues on its 112nd day. Speaking to his family on the phone, Cumali yıldırım said that their ward was stormed on May 19 and they were taken to cells, said they will not quit the hunger stike unless their demands are met. 

	 

	 

	Stating that they only have access to cold water 30 minutes a day, said they are forced to stand up during counts, which he defined as derogatory. Yıldırım pointed out that they haven't been able to attend any activities in 3 years, said the prison administration prevents them from being visited by their families arbitrarily as a punishment. Yıldırım told that they are not allowed to get Yeni Yaşam, Evrensel and Birgün Newspapers and the frequency of FOX Tv was also turned off on grounds that it "gives subliminal messages to terrorist organizations".
