20 thousand people in quarantine in Diyarbakır 2020-09-05 09:37:16   DİYARBAKIR –  SES Diyarbakır Branch Co-chair Şiyar Güldiken informed that around 20 thousand people in the city are in quarantine due to the coronavirus.   After some information shared by health professional organizations that the number of coronavirus cases announced by the Ministry of Health do not reflect the truth, the number of death cases announced by Minister Fahrettin Koca, between 10 and 20 per day, suddenly rose to the band of 37 and 49.   We asked Şiyar Güldiken, the co-chair of the Diyarbakır Branch of Health and Social Service Workers Union (SES), the reason for the rapid increase in the number of cases shared by the Ministry and the latest data on coronavirus in Diyarbakır.   Güldiken, who shared the information that the number of people receiving daily treatment in hospitals in Diyarbakır in the last two weeks varied between 700 and 750, noted that 150 people among these 750 people were treated in intensive care units. Stating that there are 10 to 15 patients who lost their lives in the city daily, Güldiken said: "Some days 15 person loses their lives a day in a single hospital. It happened the other day at the Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital. There are those who receive Covid-19 treatment and lost their lives. I am especially underlining the Covid-19 treatment. Because there are those who receive treatment and die and they are not recorded as Covid casualties if the PCR test was not positive. That's why we use the term 'Covid -9 treatment' in particular. To give an example of this, only 4 of the 15 people who received Covid-19 treatment at Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital last week and died were reported as Covid-19 casualties. Others were written as COPD, pneumonia and death from chronic diseases."   'TOTAL CASES EXCEEDED 100 THOUSAND'   Stating that 20 thousand people are currently under quarantine at home in Diyarbakır, Güldiken continued: "All 20 thousand people are of course not suffering from Covid-19. Some of them are in quarantine because someone in the house has Covid-19. So far, the number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19, recovered, are still receiving treatment and are in quarantine in Diyarbakır has exceeded 100 thousand. Especially after June 1, even if there are 500 diagnoses per day on average, as of June 1, it adds up to approximately 50 thousand people in 90 days until today. And Covid did not started at June 1 so there were patients before. We can easily say that it has exceeded 100 thousand. "
