Timtik statement from UN rapporteurs: Human life is ignored 2020-09-03 16:16:00   GENEVA - UN Special Rapporteurs on Human Rights made a statement about Ebru Timtik who died on death fast and said:  "Human life has been completely ignored".   United Nations (UN) Human Rights Rapporteurs made a joint statement regarding the imprisoned lawyer Ebru Timtik, who died on the 238th day of the death fast. The statement said: "Nobody should die for a fair trial; this is a fundamental human right. This is a complete disregard of a human life. The death of this brave female human rights defender and the circumstances that led to her death terrified us."   "WE ARE SAD"   The rapporteurs who drew attention to the unlawful detentions, unfair trials and the restrictions of the right to expression and organization, said that they demanded information from Turkey right after the arrests of the People's Law Office (HHB) lawyers. The statement said: "We have demanded information from the Turkish government in 2017 right after the arrests.
