Urgent call for Ünsal to the Parliamentary Human Rights Commission 2020-09-01 13:04:08   ANKARA - HDP Kocaeli Deputy Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu called for an "emergency meeting" to the Parliamentary Human Rights Commission for the death fasting lawyer Aytaç Ünsal, whose health condition is getting worse every day.   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Kocaeli Deputy Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu made a call for an "urgent meeting" to the Human Rights Inquiry Commission of the Parliament, of which he is a member, for imprisoned lawyer Aytaç Ünsal, who is on the 212th day of the death fast.   Gergerlioğlu reminded that the Forensic Medicine Institude said the death fasting lawyers can not remain in prison in his written statement. Gergerlioğlu said: "The government ignored this report and the objections of the public and sent Ebru Timtik and Aytaç Ünsal to their deaths."     Gergerlioğlu, yaptığı yazılı açıklamada ölüm orucunun 238’inci gününde yaşamını yitiren avukat Ebru Timtik ile Aytaç Ünsal için İstanbul Adli Tıp Kurumu’nun “hapishanede kalamaz” raporunu anımsattı. Rapor sonrası avukatların hastanelerde tutulmaya başlandığı belirtilen açıklamada, “Kamuoyunun itirazlarına, Ebru Timtik ve Aytaç Ünsal’ın ölüme götürüldüğü söylenmesine rağmen iktidar söylemleri kulak arkası etti” denildi.   The statement where the health issued of Aytaç Ünsal were listed continued as follows: "The commission must request information from the relevant authorities, make examinations and meet urgently with a delagation including members that are healtcare professionals and visit Ünsal. The situation requires the Human Rights Inquiry Commission to take a position in favor of human rights in this matter. No member, notably Hakan Çavuşoğlu, the President of the Commission, can escape this responsibility. The Human Rights Inquiry Commission cannot ignore the situation of the death fasting lawyers that demand a fair trial."
