Specialized Sergeant Orhan who caused İpek Er's death, released from prison 2020-08-26 09:29:18 NEWS CENTER - Specialized Sergeant Musa Orhan, who was charged with "qualified sexual assault" for raping 18-year-old İpek Er, who as a result ended her life in Batman, was released from the prison with a court decision. An arrest warrant was issued for Musa Orhan last week. With the indictment prepared, Siirt 1st High Criminal Court issued a warrant for the arrest of Orhan. Orhan, who surrendered after the court's decision, was put in prison.   Mehmet Erkan Akkuş, the lawyer of Musa Orhan; objected to the arrest warrant. Lawyer Akkuş claimed that his client had no suspicion of running away in his appeal petition. Evaluating the appeal, Siirt 2nd High Criminal Court decided to release Orhan, the suspect of rape. The decision soon sent to the prison where Orhan was detained. The prison administration released Musa Orhan.   While the investigation into İpek Er's death is conducted by the Batman Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the first hearing of the 'qualified sexual assault' case against Musa Orhan will be held at Siirt 1st High Criminal Court in October.   On the other hand, after the sexual assault accusation, the General Command of the Gendarmerie suspended Orhan from duty.
