Police brutality against minors in Bursa 2020-07-23 16:11:59   BURSA - Photographs from Bursa in western Turkey show a new case of police violence. Children were kicked, beaten and threatened with firearms by police officers while lying on the ground.   On Wednesday afternoon a serious case of police violence occurred in the Mevlana district of Bursa. The police abused several teenagers, called them names and threatened them with firearms. According to available information, the minors had unlawfully rented a car. They were stopped by the police, had to get out and were thrown to the ground. The police insulted the children and shouted at them. One policeman held a gun in his hand and kicked one of the children in the back. Another child was kicked and slapped.   When the police noticed that they were being watched, they threatened those around them and tried to drive them away.   Such and similar assaults have become more frequent, especially since the Coronavirus pandemic. For example, police officers fired warning shots in the direction of an eight-year-old boy who was playing on the street in the district of Nusaybin in Mardin despite the curfew.
