Dismissed Co-Mayor produces with the people

	DERSİM - Dismissed Co-Mayor of Akpazar Town Municipality Songük Doğan in Dersim, is participating in the production in Agricultural Development Cooperative with the citizens, realizes their projects.

	 

	The Agricultural Development Cooperative was established by the citizens in the village of Elmalı, located in Akpazar district of Dersim 7 months ago.  The cooperative planted vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, beans, eggplants and cucumbers, and sesame, barley and wheat this year on 240 decares of land. While citizens are aiming to make their living by cultivating the land, Akpazar Municipality Co-Mayor Songül Doğan is also participating in the works in the field. Co-Mayor Doğan also wants to establish a soap workshop and women's cooperative.

	 

	'WALLS ARE NOT IMPORTANT FOR US'

	 

	Stating that she will continue her duties despite being replaced by a trustee, Doğan said: "The women call me when they need something. We visit them and try to help when they request help. We act accordingly with their wishes. We will help them as best as we can. The municipality building, the walls do not mean anything to us. What is important to us is the faith of the people in us. We will try to be worthy of their trust. 

	 

	'WE WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE'

	 

	Stating that they will hold a meeting with the people to plan the next year for more production and emphasized that agriculture and animal husbandry are widespread in the town and they will start production of oil, cheese, yoghurt and curd. Stating that they are making jams of wild fruits, Doğan said: "We were going to start a women's cooperative and a soap workshop under the existing cooperative. Soap production would be nice because we have all sorts of plants available here."

	 

	Stating that there are requests from companies abroad regarding their products, Doğan said they are talking with the cooperatives in the region and they will make sales abroad.
