Journalist Aziz Oruç remains imprisoned 2020-07-21 13:44:57   AĞRI - Court decided Aziz Oruç who was arrested with 2 people after being detained in Doğubayazıt to remain in prison in the first hearing of his case.   Oruç who headed to Armenia because of the lawsuits filed against him as a journalist was captured in Iran, tortured and dumped at the border of Doğubeyazıt district of Ağrı. He was taken into custody there on December 11, 2019 and arrested. Oruç stood trial for the first time since back then.   Journalist Aziz Oruç and Muhammet İkram Müftüoğlu and HDP Doğubayazıt District Co-chair Abdullah Ekelek attended the hearing at the 2nd High Criminal Court of Ağrı through the Audio and Video Information Communication System (SEGBİS) from the Patnos L Type Closed Prison. Except for 3 people and lawyers, nobody was allowed in the court room.   The court decided continuation of arrest for Oruç while releasing the other two people with judicial control measures.   The next hearing was postponed to 21 September.
