23 women in custody for 2 days: Confidentiality order on the file 2020-07-15 15:48:58   DİYARBAKIR - 23 women detained on the grounds of the demonstrations and political events they participated have been in police custody in Diyarbakır Police Headquarters for 2 days.   As part of an investigation launched by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office 23 woman activists and politicians were detained by an arrest warrant issued for 33 people in total. It was learned that 23 women were detained based on the "witness statements". Among the detained listed journalist Ayşe Güney, the spokesperson of the Mezopotamya Woman Journalists Platform and the editor of Jinnews, Ayşe Gökkan, the spokesperson of the Free Women's Movement (TJA) and 70-year-old Hayriye Türkekul (Demir).    The grounds of accusations for the women detained are learned to be based on the public demonstrations and political events they had participated. It was stated that a confidentiality order has been given regarding the files of 23 women held in Diyarbakır Police Headquarters for 2 days and neither the women nor their lawyers have been informed about the extent of the investigation.
